The control unit attached to the window motor in the driver's door also does central locking, electric mirrors, and gives driver control over all the other windows. Water gets in and the unit goes a bit potty. Mine was opening electric windows by itself and causing a constant drain on the battery so I just yanked it out. Conclusion: electronics are this car's weak point. With the Skoda Octavia IV, drivers get a solid vehicle that impresses with stable technology. You need to adjust the door pull cord on handle, prise out the clip and adjust accordingly (this will make sense if you look at it) then refit metal lock barrel replacement and do up 2 screws accordingly. This is a bit of a strange one. The passenger rear door on my Octavia has stopped opening all of a sudden today. I think the central locking motor has packed in preventing the door from opening however the child lock is also on to prevent my son from opening it so it will not open from the interior door handle either. I've checked for broken/damaged wiring and could find none. I've checked the connectors to both the door lock and the door control module and they were dry and clean. The electric window works from both the drivers door and the door switch which is why I suspected the door lock. The door open light on the dash board illuminates when the door opens. HBmCz.
